Livi Pappadopoulos, a six-time world champion in professional log rolling, is returning to compete in the 24th annual La Crosse Open. The 23-year-old grew up training at the La Crosse YMCA, where she first stepped onto a log at just eight years old. “I started log rolling at the La Crosse Y. We have a wonderful program that dates back to the 80s,” Pappadopoulos said.

FRENCH ISLAND, Wis. (WXOW) – The Black River was full of smiles and splashes Thursday during the 10th annual Adaptive Water Ski event. Volunteers with the River City Water Ski Show Team and North American Squirrel Association (NASA) came together to help people of all abilities experience the thrill of water skiing. “We have people come in that may not have an opportunity to go skiing on a regular basis,” said volunteer Rich Rice.

(WXOW) – A rarely performed operetta is taking the stage in La Crosse this weekend, celebrating faith, culture, and a milestone for Cardinal Raymond Burke—who founded the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. “Counted as Mine” tells the story of St. Juan Diego and the 1531 apparition of the Virgin Mary in Tepeyac, Mexico. The operetta was written in 1960 by Mother Mary Francis and composer Joseph Roth, but it has rarely been performed. Until now.
