There was no benefit from antihistamines and an anion-exchange resin was not tolerated due to the unpleasant taste, so it was terminated by the patient. Rifampicin was not prescribed due to drug-drug interactions with oral contraceptives, which the patient wished to remain taking, and a fibrate brought mild benefit but was not tolerated due to myopathy.
