    TAHLEQUAH – During the regular monthly meeting of the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council on Jan. 13, councilor heard reports from Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Chuck Garrett, CEO for Cherokee Nation Businesses. Hoskin began by mentioning his appointment of Daniel Mead as CN acting marshal effective Jan. 1. Mead, who has been with the CN Marshal Service for 18 years, fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Shannon Buhl, who announced his retirement Nov. 1, 2024.
