    ***Video from May 20th, 2025*** AUGUSTA (WJBF) – The body that was found last month in a shallow grave on Riverwatch Pkwy has been identified. Richmond County Coroner, Mark Bowen, said 59-year-old Cindy E. Reese, a homeless woman, was the victim. The Richmond County Corner’s Office and the the RCSO responded to Riverwatch and 15th Street “under the bridge for a possible buried body,” shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20th. The investigation is ongoing.

(WJBF) – The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department to host the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on Thursday, June 26, at 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the City of Aiken Public Pool at the 416 Kershaw Street NE, Aiken, SC 29801. The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson was created in 2010 as a platform to support public education about safer water practices and to build awareness about the critical importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning.

    WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Georgia State Patrol (GSP) is investigating a crash that left a car in two pieces in Washington County. Reports say a vehicle was traveling east on Highway 24 when they lost control. The vehicle began spinning before hitting a culvert, then it flipped, and hit a metal beam. The vehicle ended up splitting in half. The driver was transported to Washington Regional Hospital for their injuries before being airlifted to Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center in Augusta.

A district Facebook post says by age 9, Zyla was taking high school and college-level courses, and by 11, she already had a college transcript. At 12, she entered high school with most graduation requirements complete but chose to stay to grow socially and academically.
