Josh Cullen made his first appearance for the Republic of Ireland Under-17s, while Gavin McAteer also started as Ireland were defeated by Norway on Wednesday. Donegal Town man Cullen has been rewarded for his performances for Finn Harps in the First Division with a first cap, while Milford man McAteer has been a regular in the side over the last year.

Tickets for Donegal's final Group 1 match against Mayo will go on general sale tomorrow at 12pm. Jim McGuinness' men will make the journey south to Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon for their final game next Sunday, June 15, as they take on Mayo in the neutral venue at 4pm. Following their 3-26 to 1-13 win over Cavan, all four teams in the group are now on two points, meaning Donegal can finish in any of the four positions in the group.

Two Donegal men have been named in the GAA.ie Team of the Week for their performances in the win over Cavan. Donegal had a number of impressive performers in the 3-26 to 1-13 win in Breffni Park, with Ciarán Moore and Conor O'Donnell making the Team of the Week. The Carndonagh forward was in great form, and while he did have one early wide, he finished as top scorer from play in the match with 1-4. O'Donnell took his goal brilliantly and put in his best performance of the season.

It was a weekend of celebrations for Paddy McCrudden, who celebrated a win in the Mayo Forest Rally on Saturday, a day before his birthday. The Donegal Town navigator was on the notes for Jason Mitchell of Strabane as the pair took the win by 20 seconds from Andrew Purcell and Liam Brennan. The Mayo Forest Rally was the fourth round of the 2025 Sligo Pallets Forest Rally Championship, with Mitchell leading the way in the Drivers standings and McCrudden top of the Navigators standings.

Donegal goalkeeper Gavin Mulreany praised his fellow number one, Shaun Patton, as the stopper returns to fitness. St Eunan’s man Patton missed out with injury against Tyrone and while he had further involvement in the warm-up on Sunday as they defeated Cavan, Mulreany was again in nets. And the St Naul’s club man was happy to get playing over the past few games, but hailed the importance of Patton to Donegal.

Jim McGuinness’ men were 0-12 to 1-5 up when the hooter sounded but Finnbarr Roarty palmed in for a goal with the last action of the half to lead by seven at the break.

The St Naul's man started last Saturday in place of the injured Shaun Patton and while Patton was named to start, Jim McGuinness has made three late changes to the side. Mulreany, McColgan and O'Donnell all come in while Patton, Dáire Ó Baoill and Oisin Gallen drop to the bench.
