Stuck in a stuffy classroom, aged 13, I’m struggling to concentrate. I don’t have the best attention span, and biology bores me on a good day. Today’s lesson is supposed to be about sex education but it’s not helpful, useful or remotely exciting. The teacher is talking about ‘gametes’ and ‘mitosis’, and I simply can’t see what any of this has to do with sex. I want to know about desire.

Happy Monday, Team CCC! How are you? How was your weekend? I’m good, if slightly achey - on Sunday I did my longest training run yet. I managed 22.1k - AKA half a marathon! I’ve signed up to run an official half marathon at the start of November, and I’m going to be running the London Marathon in April, which is very exciting and terrifying! They say you can fool all of the people, some of the time, and some of the people, all of the time – but you can’t fool anyone when you’re wearing a swimsuit. My body and I have a complicated history, but I’ve made peace with it. It’s far from being a perfect beach body, but I don’t let my hang-ups keep me off the beach. I live in Margate, and I love swimming, but when it comes to swimwear I don’t prioritise looking good – I’m thinking about what’s easy to get in and out of, under a Dryrobe.
