Hey there,We are in peak wildflower season around here in Central Texas! You can’t drive down the highway without being visually assaulted with all the yellows, reds, and blues of spring’s show-offs blanketing the ground. It’s a big reason this is my favorite time of year in this neck of the woods. Earlier this week, Kyle and I mused over one of the cooler parts of it all: we’ve all collectively, societally decided that letting the wildflowers grow is good for us.

Hey there,Today Iā€™m baking several dozen cookies for our annual Cookie Swap with friends held at our house tomorrow morning, and later this evening weā€™re doing jolabokaflod (yes, itā€™s traditionally on Christmas Eve, but do what you gotta doā€”our family plans dictate that this year itā€™s on the 22nd). Tomorrow afternoon Kyle and I will embark on our traditional date wherein we go out to eat and then collect stocking stuffers for the clan.

Every time she comes, she’s all you’ve ever wanted: that cool, delicious breeze after a long, hot day in the sun—after months of long, hot days in the sun. She’s legwarmers and beanie hats and sweaters, but no need for a bulky jacket. She’s the crackle crunch of leaves under your boots and the smell of apple everything. She’s so glorious you forget what’s coming.
