Older fans who experienced 1990s Mavs basketball might disagree with that assessment, but again… an argument can be made. As if losing 26-year-old superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers wasn’t enough, the gut-punches seemingly keep coming with each passing day since that Feb. 1 trade.

    The day we spent the entire month of February dreading finally came and went on Tuesday, as the Dallas Mavericks took on Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time since the trade that shook the NBA landscape. The game didn’t disappoint, as Doncic got off to a hot start, with his Lakers jumping out to a 16-point first-half lead. The Kyrie Irving-led Mavs fought back, though, tying the game at 91-91 with a little more than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
