    A Scottish youth charity has withdrawn proposed plans to downgrade staff pay and working conditions. Kibble Education and Care Centre, based in Paisley, proposed to reduce the rate of pay for overtime, extend the notice period to eight weeks and cut sick pay for staff signed off within that eight week period, as reported by the Daily Record.

    An estate for disabled veterans in Scotland is set to be demolished as its charity landlord is looking to sell the land as part of a plan to remain financially sustainable. Sight Scotland Veterans, which supports armed forces veterans who need support to adapt to sight loss, has spent more than £18m more than its income over the past five years. The charity warned it would run out of funds by 2031 based on its current trajectory.

    The Royal Voluntary Service is encouraging charities to “supercharge” their volunteer recruitment by signing up to its new digital platform. The platform, which was announced in March, could help unlock 140 million more volunteering hours per month, the RVS said. The charity received £5m in funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery for the platform and has worked with the health and wellbeing charity Partnerships for Wellbeing and animal welfare charity Blue Cross to conduct tests.

    The support charity Recycling Lives has appointed Victoria Blakeman as its next chief executive. Blakeman has joined the charity, which provides offender rehabilitation, support for homeless people and food redistribution services, from The Big Food Project, a food redistribution charity in Lancashire, where she had been chief executive since 2024. She succeeds Alasdair Jackson, who will move into a part-time role at Recycling Lives after six years in the top job.
