As part of the trading bloc’s Single Market Strategy revealed earlier this week, the EU will look at how it can make intra-European trade more competitive. This includes making sure that products being imported from outside the bloc meet the same standards as those faced by EU member states.

Sources indicate that spot prices from Hong Kong to the US have increased by more than $0.40 cents since the start of the week to above $4.50 per kg.

Air France KLM Martinair Cargo has added new options to its online allotment service in response to customer demand. The cargo group said the new options would bring the “autonomy of spot bookings to contracted capacity” by allowing increased flexibility around bookings when using its myCargo booking platform.

The company gained the certification, which demonstrates compliance with IATA’s pharma standards, at its locations in Italy, Belgium and Switzerland.
