    Alternative investments have become an increasingly important part of portfolios, with alts such as absolute return and hedge funds making up about 10 per cent of the average DFM portfolio according to our database. When other assets such as property, infrastructure, commodities and private equity are added to this, it reaches an average of 15 per cent. The world of alternatives has also grown to include an increasingly wide range of assets including, most notably, music royalties.

    Investors have been pulling money from UK equity funds for years. According to the Investment Association, the UK All Companies sector has been the worst-seller among retail investors in seven of the past 10 years with more than £10bn of net outflows in the past year alone. But his narrative has been accompanies by the repeated claim among many portfolio managers that UK equities offer very good value. This, however, has not moved the dial.

Just a scream into the void here, but if you're a PR setting an out of office email which tells me to "contact your colleagues", give me an idea of who to contact and how to do so, so I don't have to scour your website and randomly spam your colleagues until I get a sign of life
