Cornish Bakery is looking to expand its retail estate to over 400 shops and has brought on board its first ever property director.
The independent bakery chain – which appointed an advisory firm a few months back to oversee a potential sale of the business – has grown from its first site opened in a small fishing village in Cornwall in 1994 to operate 66 locations, mostly across England with two over the border in Scotland.

Frozen bakery supplier Delice de France has expanded into the ambient category with a new bakery delivery service for London-based outlets.
Called Delice Fresh, the initiative enables any foodservice operator in the capital to sell freshly baked morning goods, breads, and sweet treats without the need for on-site production.
Available are a selection of 28 bestselling lines from Delice de France’s range of premium bakery products, usually supplied frozen.

Construction work has started on Greggs’ new national distribution centre at Symmetry Park in Kettering.
Representatives from the food-to-go retailer as well as Northamptonshire County Council and main contractor TSL Projects joined supply chain infrastructure firm Tritax Big Box Developments (TBBD) at the site last week for a steel signing ceremony.
The new 311,551 sq ft facility is expected to be built by this September, with it becoming fully operational by 2027.
