Food sector investment firm Olidor Group has taken a majority stake in Cheltenham-based sweet bakery supplier Four Anjels Ltd for an undisclosed sum. The manufacturer, which was founded in 2010, produces a variety of premium handmade cakes, traybakes, cookies, and biscuits, including several gluten-free and dairy-free options, from its 25,000 sq ft BRCGS AA-grade factory at Bishops Cleve Business Park which contains a 5,000 sq ft production on demand unit for gluten-free items.

The deal for the Scottish sandwich maker, which operates a purpose-built factory at Chapel Street Industrial Estate in Glasgow’s Maryhill district, was made for an undisclosed fee. PJ’s Foods has been trading since 1996.

Gluten-free bakery brand Genius Foods fell even further into the red in 2023 with its latest annual results showing an operational loss before tax of £3.2m. The Edinburgh-based manufacturer had previously posted a loss of £2.4m in 2022, the same year it was acquired by German confectionery group Katjes Greenfood, which followed a £1.5m loss from 2021. The last time saw profitability from operations was in 2020, when it ended £26k up.
