Sony announced the long-awaited PlayStation 5 Pro this week, and with it came an onslaught of discourse about one particular point: the PS5 Pro price. Retailing for $699 this November, the PlayStation 5 Pro is the most expensive console of the modern gaming age, pricing out fans who might have considered buying it. So, who is the PlayStation 5 Pro for? The 60 million players who have already spent up to $500 for the base PS5 won't exactly be eager to shell out another $700 after only four years.

This past week, Zelda fans around the world were treated to a closer look at the world of Hyrule with The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom traversing Hyrule trailer. Not only does this appear to be the largest Hyrule we've ever seen in a top-down Zelda game, but it's filled with small details and characters that bring the game to life.

Hades IIis more than just a direct sequel to its very successful predecessor; it's also braving new pathways with a variety of updates and changes that make this experience feel entirely new. While there is plenty to unlock, players will enjoy a steady pace of unlockables and permanent upgrades during their play time. For the first dozen hours or so, I was unlocking new upgrades every one or two runs, and it kept me motivated to keep coming back for more. Curious what's new in Hades II?

Recently, I had the opportunity to go hands-on with the new VR game from Singer Studios, The Pirate Queen: A Forgotten Legend, and interview Director and Executive Producer Eloise Singer, as well as Executive Producer and Voice Artist Lucy Liu. The Pirate Queen is based on a true story and puts you directly in the boots of Cheng Shih, a pirate who took over her husband's fleet after his death and led tens of thousands of men across the sea.

At PAX East 2024, we had the chance to meet with the Square Enix team and get hands-on Visions of Mana gameplay. I spent about an hour playing through a couple levels, switching up my elemental abilities and taking on a beautifully designed ant boss at the end of it all. It has been some time since I've revisited the Mana series, and seeing as this is the first new mainline entry in over 15 years, it felt like the perfect opportunity to check it out ahead of the Visions of Mana release date.

At PAX East 2024, I got the chance to look at a Dune: Awakening preview where I was shown gameplay, the crafting mechanics, and giant sandworms. If I wasn't already excited for the upcoming Dune MMO, what I saw would have put any reservations to rest about the ambitious project.

Path of Exile 2 is a seamless action RPG that runs impressively well despite recent delays that have pushed the Path of Exile 2 beta back to the end of the year. On the show floor of PAX East 2024, I got the chance to go hands-on with a Path of Exile 2 preview, and the experience has me excited for its full release. It's not uncommon for the Path of Exile series to get compared to Diablo, and it's pretty clear why.
