ST. JOHNSBURY — A majority of voters on Tuesday rejected a request for more money to transform the Armory into a police station and emergency dispatching center. The ballot before townspeople at the polls asked voters if they would approve a $3.78 million bond to help fund the Armory project. JOHNSBURY — The 75th Pet Parade set for Saturday is more than a chance for people to march on Main Street with their pets or livestock; it’s also a way to celebrate animal support organizations like Save-A-Dog/Save-A-Cat. SAD-SAC is a charitable foundation founded and operated by The Caledonian-Record Publishing Company. The fund raises donations that are used primarily to benefit animals that are sick or injured and need medical attention and that don’t have owners.

ST. JOHNSBURY — Graduates and their celebrants gathered in the St. Johnsbury Academy Fieldhouse on Monday for the school’s 182nd commencement. What started out as eight grads under the leadership of the Academy’s first headmaster, James Colby, nearly two centuries ago, has grown significantly over the years, said current headmaster, Sharon Howell, and the Class of 2025 featured 230 seniors receiving their high school diplomas.

ST. JOHNSBURY — Twenty-four days after St. Johnsbury resident Adam Belliveau was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach, the man accused of firing the gun stood in handcuffs before a Caledonia Superior Court judge on Friday. Ladjuan Anthony Guichard Jr., 27, pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree attempted murder at his arraignment.
