Sister Nancy’s groundbreaking 1982 debut album, One Two, will be reissued on vinyl for the first time in over four decades. Set to drop on April 12, 2025, for Record Store Day, this limited-edition blue vinyl pressing of reportedly 3,000 copies will come courtesy of VPAL Music and Techniques. The release will feature the original artwork, exclusive liner notes by reggae historian John Masouri, a collectible sticker sheet, and Nancy’s timeless anthem, Bam Bam.

Dancehall artist Alkaline and New Era Productions have announced that the New Rules Festival will return to Jamaica on July 5, 2025. The event will take place at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium, a shift from its previous stagings in Kingston. Alkaline’s team says the New Rules Festival, which debuted in Kingston in 2017 and returned in 2022, aims to provide a platform for both established and emerging talent while delivering a vibrant experience for attendees.

Dancehall star Squash is back in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), DancehallMag has confirmed. The 33-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Andrae Maurice Whittaker, is being held at the Krome North Service Processing Center in Miami as of March 5. This development follows his February 24 arrest in Miami on charges of firearm possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

Dancehall stars Shenseea and Vybz Kartel received top honors at the 2025 MOBO Awards held at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on February 18. Shenseea claimed her second MOBO Award, winning in the Best Caribbean Music Act category against fierce competition including Skillibeng, Popcaan, Spice, YG Marley, and last year’s winner Valiant. This victory, announced earlier in the day via social media, follows her 2021 win in what was then called the Best Reggae Act category.
