BALLSTON — A Ballston Lake woman was arrested Thursday after a two-car crash on Midline Road in the town of Ballston, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Sarah M. Lopez-Hinds, 31, was charged with aggravated DWI, DWI, and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater, all unclassified misdemeanors. The crash occurred at 7:02 p.m. when deputies responded to the scene of the property damage accident.

EAST FISHKILL — Two local residents were arrested Thursday after allegedly breaking into a home on Railroad Avenue and later assaulting one of the homeowners, police said. The East Fishkill Police Department responded to a reported burglary in progress at approximately 7:44 p.m. on April 17. Officers determined that two suspects had unlawfully entered a residence and stolen various items of property.

NORTH TONAWANDA — A 57-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene Thursday night in North Tonawanda. The North Tonawanda Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Payne Avenue at approximately 10 p.m. April 17 following reports of a pedestrian-vehicle collision. Officers and members of the North Tonawanda Fire Department provided immediate aid to the victim at the scene.

LOUISVILLE — State Police responded to a report of a two-car collision with injuries on State Highway 37 at approximately 9:58 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, troopers found a red 2013 Buick and a white 2006 Ford pickup truck off the roadway in a ditch. The investigation revealed that the driver of the Buick was identified as Travis M. Smutz, 40, from Massena.

VALLEY STREAM — The Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at the intersection of Damson Lane and Woodland Road just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, Chief Anthony Capone discovered a motorcycle on fire that was quickly spreading to two nearby homes. Firefighters rapidly extinguished the blaze, preventing further damage to the residences. Mutual aid was provided by the Elmont, Malverne, and Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Departments.
