    EDDINGTON — The Maine Fire Marshal’s Office arrested a former Maine resident Thursday in connection with a 2024 arson at a closed restaurant in Eddington. Luther Green, 59, of Banks, Alabama, was taken into custody on May 8 with assistance from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office on charges of arson and burglary. Green, formerly of Eddington, was flown back to Maine by Fire Marshal investigators and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.

    PORTLAND — Portland Police responded to the area of 33 Grant Street for a report of shots fired Sunday at 8:55 p.m.Several witnesses stated they heard multiple gunshots in the area. Officers found several casings in the street and shut down the area to process the scene. No one was injured in the incident. Police do not believe there is any threat to the public.

    OXFORD — Connecticut State Police are investigating the theft of a water tote from Eastern Water Solutions on Benson Road that occurred over the weekend. According to the Oxford Resident Trooper’s Office, surveillance footage captured a truck pulling into the business property and removing the water storage container without authorization. Authorities have not released a detailed description of the suspect vehicle, noting only that the license plate was obscured.

    BOWDOINHAM — Maine State Police are searching for a 44-year-old Bowdoinham man who fled on foot after allegedly assaulting a female passenger and leading police on a high-speed chase. On Sunday, May 11, at approximately 8:22 a.m., a Maine State Trooper observed a red 2024 Nissan Altima entering I-295 northbound at mile marker 31 in Topsham at a high rate of speed.

    OXFORD — A 2001 Suzuki RM125 dirt bike was stolen from the Fairfield Road neighborhood early Monday morning, according to the Connecticut State Police Oxford Resident Trooper’s Office. The theft occurred between 12 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on May 6. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the stolen motorcycle to contact Officer Hooper. Police are also advising residents who own dirt bikes or other recreational vehicles to remain vigilant about their property.
