INTRODUCTION Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is an immune-mediated inflammatory disease that affects up to 30% of patients with psoriasis, which is present in 1% to 3% of the world population, causing a significant disease burden and reduction in health-related quality of life.1 PsA combines the burden of joint and axial inflammation with that of skin involvement and is a complex disease to assess and treat.

INTRODUCTION Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a chronic, rare autoimmune disease affecting approximately 80,000 patients in the US (1, 2). SSc is characterized by progressive autoimmunity, inflammation, microvascular damage, collagen deposition, and subsequent fibrosis of the skin and internal organs, which contributes to substantial morbidity and premature death (3-7).
