Marshall NewhouseCapron, Boone County:The local grave digger said our frost topped out at 14 inches this winter. With the lack of snow and the cold snaps we had I was sure it would have been double that. As of the second week in April the ground is in ideal condition. We will be warming into the 60s next week and many of us are debating about how aggressive to be with getting the beans in the ground. There will be more than a few guys putting beans in before their corn planter starts rolling.

CNH recently began a temporary pause on shipments of farm equipment from North American and European factories to assess the global tariff situation. The move will not affect production or parts shipments. CNH is the parent company to Case IH, New Holland and other brands. "This is a temporary move until we assess the full impact of planned tariffs on pricing," CNH Industrial noted in a statement. "There are no impacts to production, and parts shipments continue as planned.
