No, it isn’t. It’s just going on a hiatus. A pause. An interval. Wait! I know! An intermission. I’ve got to take a break because I’ve got more than one book project in the works, and the whole film criticism thing has lost a lot of its appeal to me. I can’t remember the last full review I’ve read, and I used to devour them.

Just when you thought rom-coms were dead as a genre, the beginning of 2023 brings forth a trailer for one that seems to act like they never went out of style. That would be the directorial debut of long-time television writer/producer Michael Jacobs, Maybe I Do, which releases on January 27. Maybe I Do re-unites Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey from the 2020 rom-com Holidate, but for the older crowd, there is Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, and William H. Macy.
