The A44 was closed for a number of hours today (June 19) near Broadwas following a two-vehicle crash on the A44 in which three people were injured. Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 1pm and found a man and a woman trapped in their vehicles before being released by firefighters. A woman, who was the driver of a car, has sustained serious injuries following the crash on the A44 and has been taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance.

Staff at Dogs Trust in Evesham say there is no safe amount of time to leave dogs in hot cars. The warning has come as the UK continues to battle with a heatwave, with temperatures in Worcestershire expected to reach higher than 30 degrees. A Yellow Heat Health Alert has since been issued by the UK Health Security Agency until Sunday (June 22). Charlie Dobson, Senior Vet at Dogs Trust, said: "After so many weeks of grey skies, it’s lovely to finally enjoy some summer sunshine.

But visitors will have to be quick as the flowers only bloom into a full sea of colour for a couple of weeks. The fire service crew was called to Evesham High Street on Tuesday (June 17) to reports of a rubbish fire and extinguished a fire that took hold of a bin.
