I still bump into people who are talking about and reading the last few books, and this is exactly why I started a book club! A Maryland man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer and carrying out a fake traffic stop during which he is accused of flashing a badge and brandishing a pistol. Carl Colston, 47, is accused of pulling over a victim in Greenbelt, Maryland, on 8 July, according to officials. He has now been charged with having a handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle and impersonating police, which are all misdemeanours.

Near my home in Wicker Park, on Chicago’s north-west side, is an intersection known by some in the neighborhood semi-affectionately as “the crotch.” In Chicago’s almost perfect grid, it is where North Avenue, Milwaukee Avenue and Damen Avenue all meet in one point, creating a six-way road intersection. Its nickname fits it, because this is the part of Wicker Park you want to look away from. Nobody likes the intersection.
