The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is capping flights at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) through the end of 2025 to help manage construction-related delays and operational strains at the busy travel hub. Starting September 1 through December 31, the FAA will limit arrivals and departures at Newark to 28 each per hour on weekends during critical airport construction. For the rest of the time through October 25, flights will be capped at 34 each per hour.

Delta Air Lines is adding 37 new flights starting this fall for pro football fans traveling to games. The new flights will begin in September and run through Christmas Day. Most of these additions will be operated by Delta Connection, with some Delta mainline flights as well. All include Delta First, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main cabins.

Former head of sales for Virgin Voyages John Diorio has a new role. Diorio is joining Celestyal Cruises as its new vice president and managing director for North America. In the role, he will be tasked with executing Celestyal’s strategic business plan for the North American market, including launching the cruise line’s advisor engagement strategy. He will report directly to Lee Haslett, chief commercial officer at Celestyal.

The theme of this year’s conference, held at the Hyatt Grand Cypress in Orlando, was “Connected,” focusing on the importance of relationships in the travel industry. The theme was fitting for a celebration that was delayed a year because of Hurricane Helene last October.
