A 300-plus inch nontypical buck that appeared at a recent Wisconsin deer and turkey expo was submitted as a fair-chase muzzleloader kill from 2024. According to a D&DH source, a shoulder mount of the buck was presented to Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club officials on March 29 in Wisconsin Dells as part of the annual Open Season Expo. The WBBC measured the deer at 312-plus inches nontypical gross, with a net score exceeding 306 inches. If it stands, this buck would shatter the current Wisconsin record.

Did you see the 49-pointer? An incredible buck with headgear exceeding 312 total inches was on display recently at the Open Season Deer and Turkey Expo in Wisconsin Dells. When placed side-by-side with an image of an alleged pen-raised Wisconsin buck, the similarities are striking. The Open Season Expo was held in Wisconsin Dells March 27-29, 2025. The buck mount was displayed in a room full of trophies measured by the Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club.

My tension headache escalates as the buck lifts his chin, swirls his muzzle and licks his nose. He’s only 40 yards away, but he’s on the other side of my tree and obscured by thick scrub brush. His actions dictate this will be merely a close encounter. Dusk is more than an hour away, and I assume there’s no way he’s going to bust strut, so to speak, and waltz that extra 10 yards. That’s when I see the distant flicker of pink plastic and hear the faint giggle of a small child.

Look closely. What do you see? If you ask me, I’d one of these things is not like the other! You’re looking at close-ups of three historical whitetail racks. If it had been found intact, would have scored 218-1/8 points, making it the largest typical ever. The problem with it is that the rack was from sheds found in Nebraska, hence we could never know the exact inside spread of the antlers when the deer was alive.

The @Brewers played 8,910 games since their inception. Only 15 times have they pitched a 1-hitter. Apparently not newsworthy enough for @MLB https://t.co/2KW1t586uQ
