The Dayton Daily News obtained footage of the hearing through a public records request. Visiting Judge Jonathan Hein, who is presiding over the case against Piergies and Montgomery County Clerk of Courts Mike Foley, told Piergies on Friday that public officials live under a “microscope.”“The public has high expectations because of the duty to represent the public, so that factors in here,” Hein said. Piergies was charged in July 2024 in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court along with Foley.

Larkin’s mother Julia Fulk said that they knew ahead of his birthday that it could not be a normal one. She said that he is currently in the most intense part of his treatment since he was diagnosed in September, and so is very immunocompromised. The parade was largely organized by Casey Tingley, who said that he lives down the street from the Fulks, though he added that he is not close with the family.

May 9—A Butler Twp. man who was accused of trying to solicit a young girl for sex that turned out to be undercover law enforcement has pleaded guilty to a bill of information. John Dady, 54, pleaded guilty to bill of information charges of soliciting and possession of criminal tools, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office. As part of a plea agreement, one count of importuning and another count of possession of criminal tools were dismissed, the prosecutor's office said.

May 8—Two people who law enforcement previously said were suspects in a Christmas Eve drive-by shooting have been indicted in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. Jaevon Nathaniel Wells, 31, and Tre'a Lynette Miller, 25, both of Trotwood, were each indicted Thursday on three counts of felonious assault with three-year firearm specifications. Wells was also indicted on one count of having a weapon while under disability.
