The cast of Road House came to the New York premiere in order to avoid serving any looks whatsoever. At least that’s the impression they gave. Jake Gyllenhaal in PradaHe’s managing to make Prada look deadly dull, which is a kind of talent, we suppose. Daniela Melchior in PradaShe looks very pretty, but this is completely forgettable. Lukas GageNot to be mean, but why bother? You picked the most boring outfit imaginable and you couldn’t even make it look neat enough for pictures.

I didn’t grow up with the original Road House as a kid. but having finally seen it for the first time a few years ago, I immediately understood the appeal. The 1989 cult classic combined neo-Western trappings and sheer B-movie ridiculousness (tai chi, monster trucks, and some mean throat-ripping, to name a few) to charming effect, all carried by the effortlessly charismatic Patrick Swayze.

A bunch of tough guys made a range of style efforts for the premiere of their tough-guy movie, but we are pleased to report that they did not leave the actress playing the part of The Girl in the Tough Guy Movie holding the bag. So to speak. Jake Gyllenhaal in PradaHe continues to make goofy belt choices, but we like this, for the most part. We think the weight and cut of the tweed allows for a roomier, more puddling style of pant, especially when worn with boots.
