As a total overhaul is planned for Sam Lawrence Park in Hamilton, some residents are not on board with the removal of on-site parking as accessibility remains a big issue. The City of Hamilton began the process to upgrade the park which overlooks the Jolley Cut on the Mountain Brow in 2019. There are 30 planned initiatives in total which range from how pedestrians access the site, to a pedestrian bridge over the Jolley Cut.

Day five of Ticats training camp at Ron Joyce Stadium and Sunday the veterans brought the heat and elevated the level of play on the field. When CHCH news was there for the start of camp on Wednesday, it was just the rookies. It was a beautiful day for football Wednesday as day one of the Hamilton Ticat’s training camp began at Ron Joyce Stadium. “They are kinda tip-toeing around out there,” said Scott Milanovich, the team’s head coach and offensive coordinator. “I want more excitement, I want more energy from them.”Milanovich said the rookies are in pretty good shape, but he expects more from them when the vets arrive to training camp this weekend.

Niagara farmers remain optimistic as they face the challenge posed by Canada’s often extreme fluctuations in weather. Local farmers say the phrase “expect the unexpected” is quite familiar to them. “Farming in Canada is not for the faint of heart,” said Phil Tregunno, chairman at the Ontario Tender Fruit Growers. Farmers who have been at this for a while know that weather fluctuations are a mainstay of their industry. Tregunno says you have to get a really hard freeze to take out an entire crop.
Niagara winery plans to expand as 'elbows up' movement bolsters sales

Ontario wine sales are up 65 per cent since the LCBO removed American product from its shelves. One winery in Niagara is currently in expansion mode, growing their business as a result of the ‘elbows up’ movement. Norman Beal is the president of Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery in Beamsville. He says the winery has been surprised with how sales have shot up within a short period of time. As a by-product, profits are going back into his business in order to create more jobs.
