    ARLINGTON — There will be some significant changes to the Arlington Farmers Market this season, according to new Market Manager Peggy Hanson. While the schedule of the event will not change from the Fridays 4-7 p.m., June through September slot, the location and the structure of the market will evolve. The rejuvenation project was undertaken and conducted by Hanson and board members Debralyn Stempel, Mimi Zylinski, Pat Williams, Jean Freebern, and Aaron Ashton.

    DORSET — On Monday, outside of the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert, Tucker the dog was waiting patiently. Decked out in his special Memorial Day regalia – with a band of large sparkly red, white, and blue beads around his neck – Tucker lounged on the sunny marble steps of the church, waiting to give the small community parade a true and proper sendoff. Inside of the church, members and locals gathered to honor their fallen.

    Everyone was gathered for Mayfest 2025 and, despite the weather, the atmosphere was lively and fun, children were unhampered by the drizzle, and adults mingled to laugh, catch up, and converse with friends. The Merchants Park splash pad was located very near to the Thompson Stage, where balloon twisting, a petting zoo with baby animals, and performances geared toward children kept little kids occupied for hours.

    DORSET — JK Adams is set to strengthen its connection to the local landscape thanks to $42,366 in funds from the Vermont Working Lands Enterprise Initiative, which recently awarded more than $679,000 to Vermont farms and forestry businesses. “Right now, our wood comes from around the area, but not necessarily from Vermont,” said Adam Sigel, chief operating officer of JK Adams.
