A wet spell is also very likely to commence over Himachal from June 20 to 25 and the weather office has issued a heavy rain alert in various districts of the state for the upcoming days. Light to moderate rainfall is likely over many parts of the state with few spells of heavy rainfall over plains and mid hills of the state.

Dharamshala, June 16 -- Despite hailstorms and gusty winds last month affecting the crop in some pockets, Kangra's mango produce this time is expected to be higher than that of previous year. According to estimates from the horticulture department, mango production is expected to be more than 25,000 metric tonnes (MT) this year, up from last year's 22,000 MT. In 2023, the production was only 16,800 MT when adverse weather had impacted the crop.

Dharamshala, June 15 -- Police have recovered the 18-year-old woman who was allegedly kidnapped by a 19-year-old man from a minority community in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district earlier this week. Communal tensions gripped the Majra area after the incident leading to widespread unrest, prompting authorities to impose Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across Majra and nearby localities including Kiratpur, Meliyon, Fatehpur, and Mishrawala.
