    CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — On National Work Zone Awareness week, the family of a DOT worker fatally hit by a car last summer are reminding residents to be mindful when driving through construction zones. Connecticut officials say that on average, there is a wreck in a work zone every 40 hours. From 2023 through 2024, there were 2,000 work zone crashes in Connecticut, with six fatalities.
