It is a soggy night with periods of rain and breezy winds. The rain comes as a well developed low pressure system tracks from Eastern Iowa into Wisconsin through early Monday morning. Some pockets of heavier rain will occur, before tapering to lighter showers early Monday. Steady east to northeast winds up to 15 mph will continue, shifting more to the north overnight. Lows will be in the upper 30s, but northern areas will drop a few more degrees, leading to some wet snow mixing in late.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - April is here and it’s not a prank. More wet snow will be pushing through Western Wisconsin tonight. Another large spring storm system is taking shape over the Plains and will track towards the northeast and into Wisconsin through Wednesday. A band of moderate to even heavy precipitation will be spreading across the area early tonight, possibly as rain to start but then quickly changing over to heavy, wet snow.

A high pressure system which provided Monday’s sunny but cool weather will slide through the Upper Midwest tonight and then to the east into early Tuesday. Skies will remain mostly clear as we drop down into the 20s. Sunshine will be much more limited Tuesday, as clouds quickly increase from the west. They come out ahead of a strengthening storm system over the Plains and an associated warm front.

It has been a stormy final weekend of March with low pressure tracking through the Upper Midwest. Rainfall amounts have been impressive with mainly locations picking up between 1.00-2.00″. The system is crossing Southern Wisconsin early tonight and will quickly exit into the Great Lakes. The final band of precipitation is sliding across Western Wisconsin, which has changed from rain to sleet and now wet snow.

Plenty of sunshine around Western Wisconsin today, along with seasonable temperatures in the 40s. The strong, late March sunshine melted off the inch of snow Eau Claire picked up Sunday night, leaving us with a bare ground once again. A weak area of high pressure just to the north will keep our weather mainly clear tonight, while some high clouds pass by just to the west. These are associated with another front and wave of low pressure over the Northern Plains.

Some very ominous clouds passed over my house this morning in Eau Claire, as sub-severe storms passed through with gusty winds. I'd rate it the coolest I've seen in '24! https://t.co/dRQJLXV9ns

Too much rain and not enough sun has made for challenging gardening so far, but the cooler temps have been good for the lettuce. 3rd head I've picked in just over a week. https://t.co/Dx3N3XBxbA
