Magic Power: All-Star Tribute to Triumph is due out June 6th and it was produced by Mike Clink, best known for his work with Guns n’ Roses, Triumph, Whitesnake and Slash’s last album, Orgy of the Damned.

911 operators handle hundreds of calls a day and many are not real emergencies. In fact, some are just downright ridiculous. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Saskatchewan has compiled its annual list of the 10 most unusual 911 calls they received in 2024. Here they are:A resident reported that someone had taken their tambourine during a party. A caller asked for help with a math problem. A caller asked for help with a broken washing machine.

Oxford’s Word of the Year … It’s the time of year when the world’s largest dictionaries look back on the biggest news and cultural moments of the past 12 months to figure out the words which best represent 2024. Oxford Dictionaries has revealed its shortlist for Word of the Year, and the public is invited to vote for the one they think deserves to be the winner. Voting is open until November 28th and the winner will be announced on December 2nd.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation will host the 39th annual induction ceremony this Saturday at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, home to the Hall of Fame and muesum. To be eligible, artists are required to have released their first record 25 years prior to Induction. Those elected for induction in the following categories are:Performer Category: artists who have created music whose originality, impact, and influence has changed the course of rock & roll.
Elton gets the feels in Toronto

An emotional Elton John fought back tears as he discussed his family while taking questions after the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Elton John: Never Too Late. The film, co-directed by R.J. Cutler and Elton’s husband David Furnish, looks at his career from his first Dodger Stadium concert in October, 1975 to his final U.S. show there on November 20th, 2022. Elton told the crowd at Roy Thomson Hall that “On my tombstone, I don’t want it to say he sold a million records.
