CKJH (Melfort, SK)
CKJH is a Canadian radio station that plays classic hits on the AM frequency of 750 in Melfort, Saskatchewan. Known as CK-750, it is owned by Fabmar Communications and shares its studio space with CJVR-FM, located at 611 Main Street. Along with CBGY, CKJH is one of the only full-power radio stations in Canada to operate on the 750 AM frequency, which is designated as a clear-channel frequency in both the United States and Canada. CBGY holds a Class A status, sharing this designation with WSB in Atlanta, Georgia.

The 13th annual campaign raised $192,303.90 which will be used to purchase desperately needed equipment for the Humboldt District Health Complex. The Town of Nipawin has awarded the tender for their outdoor multi-sport court. The tender was awarded to Watermaster Irrigation Services Ltd. at this week’s council meeting, for an amount not exceeding $335,000 plus GST. General Manager of Leisure Services Chelsea Corrigan told northeastNOW the court will hold one basketball court, one tennis court, and four pickleball courts, with two of the pickleball courts sharing the tennis court.

The Town of Tisdale passed their operating and capital budget for 2025 at their council meeting this week. “This budget has been carefully developed to reflect the needs and priorities of our community, while ensuring fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability,” a town news release stated. Residents will have to fork over a little more in property tax in 2025. The General Municipal Levy Increase is set at 1.5 per cent.

One last gasp of winter is heading our way. The province will see an Alberta Clipper coming through on Thursday, bringing with it significant precipitation and strong wind. Danielle Desjardins of Environment and Climate Change Canada said the system is expected to arrive overnight into Thursday morning in west-central areas of the province. The system will then head east, largely following the path of the Yellowhead Highway through the central part of Saskatchewan.
