Harvard University has announced that it will make tuition free for students in households making up to $200,000 annually, and cover all costs – tuition, room, board, and other expenses – for students whose families earn under $100,000. Recruitment numbers for the U.S. Army are on the rise, and new Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says the election of Donald Trump has played a major factor in the upswing. “In December 2024, the U.S. Army had its best recruiting number in 12 years,” Hegseth posted on X. “In January 2025, the Army hit its best recruiting number in 15 years.

A federal jury has awarded a former Nashville firefighter nearly $1.8 million over his demotion for making comments on social media the city deemed inappropriate. Larry Turner, who served as a captain with the Nashville Fire Department, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city’s Metro Government and Davidson County after he was demoted in 2020 for a series of critical social media posts on subjects such as Black Lives Matter (BLM) and the COVID-19 mask mandate.
