Catholic students in Michigan celebrated the closure of three Planned Parenthood locations last week, calling the news an answer to prayer. On April 2, Planned Parenthood announced it is shuttering clinics in Petoskey, Jackson, and Marquette by the end of the month. It will also consolidate its two Ann Arbor locations into one by May 5, all in response to funding cuts by the Trump administration.

Kansas lawmakers Thursday overrode the governor’s veto of a bill restricting COVID-style shutdowns and another bill protecting people of faith in fostering and adopting children. The Substitute for Senate Bill 29 will convert COVID-style shutdown orders by state and local health officials into recommendations only that must be approved by an elected body. It also prohibits the use of law enforcement officers to enforce health orders on individuals, such as quarantines and mask or vaccine mandates.

Pro-life lawmakers have filed legislation to assist pregnancy resource centers across the country. Rep. Chris Smith, R-New Jersey, and Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-New York, reintroduced the Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act last week. Nearly 90% of Rhode Island’s public schools would hide a student’s transgenderism from parents, according to their written policies. Parents Defending Education (PDE) examined all of Rhode Island’s school district policies and found 32 out of 36 explicitly tell school staff to hide student’s gender identity issues from parents. These policies govern nine out of the state’s 10 largest districts and over 110,000 students.
