Mike Kelly has been a cyclist and inventor for decades and is hoping to make the pastime safer with a new rearview mirror system that’s designed to work in any riding position. A close call on his bike years ago pushed Kelly to invent the new type of bike accessory called the “Mantis Mirror.”“A pick-up truck went by and brushed me with his mirror. Almost set me in the ditch and I thought, this is craziness,” Kelly said. The dual mirror system attaches to a rider’s helmet.

With Easter dinner just days away, many Canadians are feeling the effects of rising grocery prices. In Ottawa, inflation is running higher than the national average. “A lot of the food that I buy now has gone up like 30, 35 per cent. Some cases, 40 per cent, which is a little bit outrageous,” said Terry McDonald, a grocery shopper in Ottawa. “I’m not really convinced that the inventory they just received is at that price. But, you know, who knows?” McDonald said.

Quebec drivers are heading to Ottawa to fill up their gas tanks and save money. Prices at the pump are noticeably lower on the Ontario side, and some Gatineau residents say the short drive is worth it. “It’s like 13, 14 cents cheaper,” said Nadia, a Quebec motorist. “We live very close to the bridge.
