Carolyn and Mike Holt were stranded in Ottawa after missing their connection to Vancouver yesterday, forcing them to find accommodations in the city. “We had to get a hotel and stay overnight. Many across the city made the most of the long weekend, heading outdoors to celebrate Family Day. From skating on the Rideau Canal, to enjoying the last day of Winterlude, there was no shortage of activities. Chris Waddington and his kids spent the holiday at Snowflake Kingdom in Gatineau. “A little cold out here, but it’s a great place to spend time with the family,” Waddington said. Despite the cold, Snowflake Kingdom was a popular spot for both kids and adults.
