This would be Ernst’s third term. During a Republican primary debate on Iowa PBS in 2014, she said that she would only seek two terms. Each full senate senate term is six years.

Julie Stauch, a Democrat from West Des Moines, launched her campaign on Tuesday. “I’ve applied for the job of governor, and I’m here for my first job interview,” Stauch said.

But after he heard U.S. Senator Joni Ernst’s responses to a person who expressed fears that people will die because of Republican budget cuts to Medicaid and food assistance, he said that he announced his campaign for Ernst’s seat in the 2026 election.

Leaders, including Murphy, would like to know why some men have been leaving the workforce. How are they supporting themselves? Where have they gone? There would seem to be fewer incentives not to work.
