Governor Gavin Newsom announced Friday, $200,000 dollars in rewards for the arrest and conviction of those responsible in four separate unsolved crimes. $50,000 each. La Mesa resident and U.S. Navy Sailor Cornelius Donte Brown is the victim in one of those four cases. "My son's murder will never be behind me. Its forever in front of me." Cornelius' mother Addrienne Brown said. Addrienne Brown's son was shot and killed almost four years ago to the day at his apartment in La Mesa.

At a time when the homeless crisis in San Diego calls for all hands on deck, Mayor Todd Gloria wants to discontinue supporting a shelter for homeless people dealing with mental illness. Since 2022, the city spends $4.5 million for the cost of operating the Rosecrans Shelter. According to the mayor's proposed budget, the city intends to pull its funding to help balance the city budget. The shelter is unique.

A 10-year-old elementary school student is being hailed a hero for helping save the lives of two of his siblings after a fire broke out in their College Area home. Oceanside police may be adding a new tool to their law enforcement efforts. A big part of it is using a drone as a first responder. The Oceanside Police Department wants to enlist a new first responder to its ranks - one that gets there within seconds and sees in every direction from 400 feet above the ground.
