When Gracen Ruggles first arrived at the University of Tulsa, she was a bit of a mystery to her new teammates. “You’re from Iowa? Where is that?” she remembers being asked. At the time, no one had met anyone from the Quad Cities — let alone played with one. That didn’t last long. Now, there are three of them: Gracen Ruggles, Maddy Nigey, and Jordan Martens — all from the Quad Cities, all teammates at Tulsa, and all part of a growing bond that extends well beyond the pitch.
