The Junior Rite of Passage is a prayer ceremony for rising seniors. During the ceremony, five candles were lit, one each by Principal Dr. Jim Reagan Jr., and 2025-26 Student Council Executive Board members, President Phoebe Mouris, Vice President Courtney Gregory, Secretary Kate Panko, and Media Coordinator Harrison Manousos.

    SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Sinclair Powell, a recent graduate of Union Catholic, has been awarded the prestigious Ella Fitzgerald Foundation Scholarship to attend North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. Powell’s journey in music began at age seven with classical piano lessons, but she quickly realized her passion lay elsewhere. “I was bored,” she recalled, prompting her mother, also a musician, to introduce her to jazz.
