EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Independent School District Superintendent Diana Sayavedra has agreed to a voluntary retirement agreeement with the district’s Board of Trustees after another lengthy meeting to discuss her status and future on Tuesday, June 3. It was the second straight week that the board met to discuss Sayavedra’s status with the district. Each meeting went about five hours long. A divided board voted 4-2 Tuesday to accept Sayavedra’s retirement agreement.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 14-year-old boy was shot at least once and killed while sitting in the backseat of a vehicle in what Las Cruces Police are calling road rage incident. Las Cruces Police said that Alejandro Roman was shot and killed at about 9 p.m. Monday night, June 2 near the intersection of Solano Drive and Spruce Avenue. No arrests have been made at this time. Life-saving measures were attempted, but Roman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
