The living legend that is Cher wanted to turn back time to "take back those words" that hurt her partner. If this movie-loving writer could turn back time, he'd want to experience many things again, including a few movies that proved once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Any cinephile can relate: some movies stay with you because of what it meant to watch them for the first time. Call it nostalgia or attachment or longing — it's possibly all of that and more.

What makes a good whodunit? Is it a brilliant story with enough twists to light up a '60s ballroom? Is it the cast full of familiar faces playing even more familiar tropes? Is it the setting, a stately, secluded manor where every corner hides a new secret? Or is it something else entirely, an elusive je ne sais quoi that brings it all together? Whatever it is, the new adaptation of Agatha Christie's Towards Zero doesn't quite have it.

Table of Contents The superhero genre saw a drastic rise in prominence throughout the 2010s. Spearheaded by Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga, and the X-Men movies from 20th Century Studios, formerly 20th Century Fox, the genre became a true force to be reckoned with in the cinematic landscape.

The White Lotus ended its third season with a banger of an episode that brought death, tears, realization, and even forgiveness to the visitors of the titular luxury resort. Like previous seasons, The White Lotus' third chapter featured a large ensemble of performers who all gave standout performances, even if some shone far more than others. The show is an Emmy darling, getting Emmy wins for Murray Bartlett and Jennifer Coolidge in Season 1 and Coolidge again for Season 2.

A few weeks ago, a post on X went viral about how The White Lotus, HBO's Emmy-winning sensation created, written, and directed by Mike White, "isn't for A-list actors." It's true — to a degree, at least. The show attracts a ton of television talents, with many Emmy nominees checking into the murderous hotel. However, it's also true that major movie stars, say Tom Hanks or Julia Roberts, wouldn't fit with the vibe of the show.

Also, methinks Walton Goggins and Carrie Coon will finally become Emmy winners thanks to The White Lotus 🪷 https://t.co/LhGLqiYmyc

Carrie Coon has been part of two shows whose third seasons were decidedly slower and more uneven than previous seasons. Both times, she’s been outstanding in a role that, on paper, might not seem too impressive, elevating it through sheer talent. Constantly in awe of her. https://t.co/vvop9pJbPz

Disney live-actions are easy to dissect: young talented actress + consummate talented pro to elevate the formula’s flaws. In #SnowWhite, Rachel Zegler holds up her half of the bargain, but Gal Gadot is simply awful. Sad part is, you can see Gadot is trying; she’s just failing. https://t.co/cJ22xBn2g1
