On Dec. 22, 2023, a strange coincidence occurred: Brooklyn indie rock band Geese parted ways with guitarist Foster Hudson, and Connecticut jam band Goose parted ways with drummer Ben Atkind. A similar crossover is happening now, as the two groups are both booked for this year’s Newport Folk Festival and on the same day. Geese and Goose will perform at Fort Adams State Park on July 25. Geese were announced earlier this month and Goose were announced today.

During the Cannibal Corpse set, one happy couple tied the knot in the middle of the pit, and nobody ran into them because they were surrounded by people holding their phone cameras up.

Fincher’s music-video era overlapped slightly with the rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but Fincher never directed a Chili Peppers video. He never even cast Flea in one of his movies, and Flea shows up in auteur directors’ movies all the time. That means that the world has never gotten to see the Chili Peppers through the eyes of David Fincher — a true loss for humanity.
