Drivers in Bristow will soon travel through safer railroad crossings thanks to changes coming to several intersections. Mayor Kris Wyatt said every time she hears stories of collisions at train tracks, it makes her think of how her community is making things safer for people. She has worked to ensure her city will benefit from the Federal Railroad Crossing Elimination grant program. This will allow Bristow to make three upgrades to its crossings.

Governor Kevin Stitt's office is now clarifying the governor's comments on cockfighting after a video posted to his YouTube page showed his support for the Oklahoma Gamefowl Commission. The governor's office said that Stitt is not in favor of cockfighting or any other form of animal cruelty. The Governor posted a video on YouTube last week supporting the Oklahoma Gamefowl Commission, a group that has backed legislation that would reduce cockfighting from a felony to a misdemeanor.

A Tulsa family is still looking for answers following the death of their father, who was killed by a driver while he was working along the Turner Turnpike in July of 2021. “He was just standing on the side of the road, doing his job, trying to come home to his kids that night, his family, and he didn't get that chance because someone didn't want to pay attention,” she said. Lyndsey Daggs hit and killed Donovan Knippenburg and has been charged with negligent homicide.
