By DAVID IORJA, Abuja –President Bola Tinubu has appointed Abba Aliyu as the substantive Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). President Tinubu in a statement by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, said the appointment, effective from Jan. 23, is for an initial term of four years. Aliyu has been acting as the agency’s managing director since March 2024 until the confirmation of his appointment.

Jeremiah Timbut Useni, who died on Thursday at 81. The explosion occurred on Saturday at Dikko Junction, Gurara Local Government Area of Niger, leading to the lost of many lives. President Tinubu in a statement by his media aide, Bago Onanuga, mourned the victims and expressed his condolences to the families affected, as well as to the government and people of Niger.
