San Diego City College celebrated Women’s History Month with the Knights’ women’s tennis and softball teams both in action on Tuesday, March 18. Roughly 200 City College community attendees were given black and pink commemorative jerseys and were treated to lunch just beyond center field at Beck Hock Field. City’s mental health department was also in attendance and reminded fans of future events and resources they provide. The following passages recap each of the days events.

San Diego City Community College received a campus-wide alert early in the morning on Feb. 22, indicating there had been a robbery at knife point near Schwartz Square. The victim, a Continuing Ed student, sustained minor injuries but is expected to make a full recovery. This stark reminder of how our personal safety can become abruptly at risk and without warning. This was the second stabbing this year and in both instances the assailant was apprehended quickly and awaits due process.

In a dominating match, Friday, Feb. 20, vs College of the Desert, the San Diego City men’s tennis team plowed its way to a resounding 9-0 win in its first home court appearance in 2025. The Knights are now 2-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play and 4-1 overall. The Knights are hot, winning 4-straight matches, and haven’t given up a single game in the last 3 matches. Head coach Brandon Lupian knows that wins won’t always come so easy.
