Inland Revenue released its draft Interpretation Statement (IS) (PUB00486) on 30 August 2024, which sets out the Commissioner of Inland Revenue’s preliminary view on the correct GST treatment of investment management fees charged to investment funds. For example nothing prevents the Bitcoin developers from copy & pasting over the Ethereum codebase tomorrow. The reason this doesn't happen is because the Bitcoin developers have fundamentally different set of beliefs from the Ethereum developers and this is reflected in the code.
