Rising revenues at the port of Blyth

The UK’s port of Blyth reported record financial performance for the fourth consecutive year. At its recent Annual Public Meeting, the port of Blyth said that port turnover for 2024 was the highest on record at GBP22.23 million (USD29.66 million). For the overall group, turnover grew to second highest on record at GBP31.48 million (USD42 million), with an operating profit and profit before tax of GBP2.65 million (USD3.54 million) and GBP2.23 million (USD2.98 million), respectively.
Tradelossa completes Mexican haul

Mexico’s Tradelossa recently completed a complex heavy haul operation for an important energy sector development in the north of the country. With precise, detailed planning and expert execution, the Tradelossa team transported a 282-tonne transformer measuring 11 m in length and 4.5 m in width/height. It was moved from the port of Altamira, Tamaulipas to Apodaca, Nuevo León, a distance of 450 km.

deugro Thailand, in close cooperation with the local teams of deugro Malaysia and deugro Singapore, moved two reactors with a total volume of 1,155 cu m from Malaysia to a project site in Thailand. The reactors will be used in a sustainable fuel production unit. The reactors had varying weights and dimensions, with unit weights of up to 341 tonnes and measurements of up to 39 m x 4.9 m x 4 m. They were received at Port Klang, Malaysia.

USTR’s China shipping measures take shape

According to the USTR draft Federal Register notice, the USA will begin charging fees on Chinese-owned, operated and built vessels arriving at its ports in October 2025. Most multipurpose and heavy lift tonnage appears to fall beyond the scope of the regulations.
