The USA’s port of Albany was recently recertified by Green Marine, a leading environmental programme for the maritime industry that helps participants improve environmental performance beyond regulations. Port of Albany said it was the first port in New York state to volunteer and certify in the Green Marine programme, securing certifications since 2016.

Turkish transport engineering and rigging specialist Hareket has been busy installing 20 wind turbines as part of an 84 MW onshore wind energy development, along with delivering boilers to a steam generation plant as part of a separate project. The company has mobilised a 600-tonne lift capacity CC2800 crawler crane, an AC200-1 mobile assist crane, plus a 160-tonne lift capacity mobile tailing crane from Liebherr, to perform the works.

On June 20, the semi-submersible heavy lift vessel Red Zed 1 experienced a sudden steering failure and grounded while transiting the Suez Canal. Source: Suez Canal Authority. The vessel veered off course near the El-Qantara West passenger ferry terminal. Admiral Ossama Rabiee, chairman and managing director of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), said that emergency measures ensured the vessel made a side-on impact with the ferry dock, avoiding a more severe head-on collision.
