The City Council’s recent attempts to appoint a seventh councilor have left many Marco Island residents frustrated and disappointed. I was one of more than 25 applicants for the seat left vacant by Councilor Greg Folley. Over weeks of interviews and deliberations, the Council narrowed the field to two, including me. Yet, the Council deadlocked in a 3-3 vote.

I’m proud to endorse Becky Irwin for City Council. Becky is more than just an incumbent; she’s a leader who truly cares about this community. In her last election, she received more votes than any other candidate, and it’s clear why. When Becky appointed me to the Marco Island Beautification Advisory Committee, I became chairman and saw firsthand her passion for preserving Marco Island while improving it for future generations.
