The venerable Humvee has been part of America’s armed forces since the 1980s. Many model manufacturers have produced many different Humvee kits, and now joining the ranks is the ICM 1/35 scale Humvee M1097A2 plastic model kit of a stripped-down, utility variant. Assembly begins with the single-piece frame, suspension, and drive train. The parts fit well and need only minimal cleanup for mold lines.

The new Academy Panzer I Ausf B and Motorcycle plastic model kit joins the company’s other two-kit releases, the Panzer II and Panzer III with a Zundapp motorcycle and sidecar. Takom has now joined a wide field of manufacturers in producing a Tiger I kit. The Takom 1/35 scale Tiger I mid-production plastic model kit is a version specific to the tank ace Otto Carius. This initial release includes a nicely sculpted figure of him. Takom has done a beautiful job with the molded-on Zimmerit, and I didn’t need to use putty anywhere on the kit. The assembly consists of 26 steps, starting with the interior compartments.
